 This week we did PMC! The picture book that we did was, we're all equal! I worked with Ben and it was good because we got it done but did quite some talking! We did build and it was to build a house for the bear and the turtle to share. Working together worked well except for the talking! This is my picture!

 This week our book for play, make, create was Rain Before Rainbow by Smriti Halls! I worked by myself and I did create and that was to do a map! What worked well was working by myself and it was much better! I would change the quotes! This is my picture!

 This week we did whetu challenge today! We did the newspaper tower challenge! ( Part 2 ) I worked with Christian, Ethan, Charlie, And I, It worked out well! I think we went way better than last time because ours fell over and the roles we too big! Really successful because we had a triangle base for our tower and really thin roles of paper, it also was free-standing! We also came 2nd with 290cm! What we could have done was put the bottom through the 3d triangle! We also worked in the QZ and it was good because the roof went up on an angle! Here is my picture!

 This week I completed my fabulous finish! I decided to draw Josh and I did the idea of the flaps! I did this by myself for literacy! It is Josh from The year my life broke, It is a story about cricket! Its was challenging because I had done it wrong the first time but Mrs. Loft & Mrs. Heaven gave me a bit of help so I had only had 4 days to get it done! I think I did a pretty good job!  This week we did play, make, create. The book was Theodore The Unsure. I worked with Sol, Tama & I. We did the build task and that was we had to build a yes or no creation! If we had more time we would have done it 3der! It was challenging enough to make it spin but in the end, we did it! Here is our picture's!  

Last week we did a whole school NPS challenge! This challenge was to make a kite without using an already built kite from the store! I worked with Miller and he knew how to build a flag kite because he made a flag one in lockdown and it worked well! We used 2 flag poles, 1 flag, some tape, string, and ribbon for the tale! I think it was a GREAT success because it flew beautifully in the air and it was super lite. We could work on having put tape around the post going across!  One thing was that we also used one attachment to the kite, not two. Here are our pictures!

 This week we did play make create & the book was Be you! It was about a book that has the stuff to do that you need to be you!  I worked alongside Christian and we both decided that we were going to do a poster & it had our hobby's on it! First, we got some paper and wrote some things that we like on it in pencil then sharpie! What worked well was the big bold writing & colours! I need to work on not talking as much & to finish everything! If I had more time I would draw a better fish! Here is my picture 

  Term 2, Week 1 2021 During Term 1 we have been practicing our addition and subtraction knowledge through the online program called NumBots.  At the start it was super easy but progressively got more challenging. I am now on the silver level of NumBots.   I enjoy NumBots because you can learn your subtraction & edition from it & Its fun as well What I find challenging is when you have finished Titanium and you are on bronze the questions got harder This week we have started TTRockstars.  This is an online program which helps us to learn our timetables. The timetables got for all the way up to 12 x 12! We had to do 10 studio games to get on the road again! I think that TTRockstars will be hard because we had not done it for 6 months & I have gone from 82ms to 1:02!

 This week for play, make, create the book was Up the creek! The book was about Three friends disagreeing with each other!  Ben & I created a boat that only had 3 wheels.  The task was to make something that could go on the water! We made this out of lego! This is our photos!

 This week we did play, make, create about "My Many Colored Days" By Dr. Seuss. We made small, medium, and big-sized emojis! We used one egg carton and used the sections for smiley faces. Our duo was Sol & I! This is our photo!

  Whetu Fun Day Last Thursday we had a Whetu Fun Day as our camp was postponed.  Our teachers planned a fun day for us instead!  We participated in a Whetu Amazing Race, a range of different fun rotations, a BBQ lunch, and play on the council playground then we finished the day with an Easter Egg hunt and an ice block. My favourite part of the Amazing Race was being with my team and trying to figure out all of the clues because some required some teamwork!  The rotation I enjoyed the most was was team PE because I love sports and outdoor activities! During the Easter Egg Hunt, I found my stick outside of the corner of the Hui & Hub!  I worked with Milller, Sol, Cohen, Johan & Furgus!

 This week for play, make, create Johan & I had to design something to do with school camp! .1 PVA     .2 Start getting some grass         .3 Sprinkle the picked grass all over the page & evenly spread .4 Hot glue ice cream sticks in a teepee shape!         .5 PVA stick onto a piece of paper!             .6 Tape coloured fabric on top of the teepee!                       And WALA! We decided that we were going to create a campground (Teepee, campfire, log & a lake!) The hardest part was the hot glue because there were 4 but the were no more glue sticks left. We still managed to get some glue out! Here is our picture! This Is Our Creation!  

 This Week Miller & I worked together on a maths mystery. It also had 5 questions & they were really challenging  This was a sport thief one & we got the first one wrong but then we saw our mistake and so we went back & did it again! Our answer was  !Molly!  MATHS MYSTERY! 😀

 This week Miller Kian & I did Play, Make, Create together. We had to make something to do with music & so we made porotitits, This is a Maori instrument. It is made out of string & cardboard + it's easy to make! This is our photo!

 This week we did play make create. This is about The Gruffalo!  I did the bridge one with Regan, Johan, and myself!  We made our one with wood, nails, hammers, saws, and our BIG BRAIN!                WE HADE SO MUCH FUN CREATING!

  Week 5, Term 1, 2021 Monday was our school Swimming Sports. On the day I competed in 5 races. They were 1 length freestyle, 2 lengths freestyle, 1 length breaststroke, 2 lengths breaststroke, and also relay!    We had two art sessions this week and I am doing our art is going to be a Modigliani-style portrait painting. I have done my full draft except for one stage witch is fully colouring. I have also started my good copy and I know what colours to do as well.    In reading this week we have been reading the books, The twits, and The magic finger! I am with Mrs. H\LMagic Finger Yellow! Part of our maths program is NumBots and I think I am doing pretty well considering I started late im still around halfway on Steel. I think it is a really cool maths game too!

  Week 4, Term 1, 2021 The most interesting/fun thing we have done during class time this week was the everyone outside Takaro because we could do anything outside! We started our art this week and I have chosen to do art with Heaven and Mrs. Loft.  Our art is going to be a Modigliani-style portrait painting. I think it will be challenging because we have to do lots of steps!   We created our Whetū stars on Thursday and they look VERY amazing. My Mum came into school to create my star with me, but she had to go to work at 8:45 am. When she was gone I hung out with Simon & Shannon (Miller’s Mum & Dad) Next week we have our school swimming sports. I am feeling pretty nervous! And the day after we have the cricket tournament at the Paeroa College.

  Week 3, Term 1, 2021 Someone who has helped me with my learning this year is Mrs. Kennedy & some other Whetu teachers & friends. The most interesting/fun thing we have done during class time is numbots, obstacle course, water slide & takaro. The most fun thing that I have done at a play or lunchtime this year is playing with Miller on the black boyes. One word that describes learning in Whetu is so super stunning!! Something I am looking forward to is doing this week’s Whetu challenge & Numbots!
